Tremulous KorX vs. Tremulous 1.2

A topic was locked because we were talking about this. (And it was off the topic)
If you wish to continue your discussion and debate over which is better (Korx or 1.2), then feel free to post here.

Personally i enjoy korx better because of 1, better graphics, and 2, many new things added.

But i do beleive that 1.2 will have it's perks too.

Anyways, to stay on topic i'd have to say that it's not impossible to kill an adv rant. It can be hard, but that's only if your being stupid and going out alone as a human. (Your supposed to rush altogether, or go out in pairs. =P )

Although i do have to agree with the mdriver. I can't use it whatsoever anymore, because i'm either calculating the delay in 1.1, or thinking it's no delay in korX. lol

1.2 > KoRx, although KoRx is a little more balanced. Then again, the worst part about KoRx: the players and admin SUCK. Whereas on 1.2, most of you couldn't even get a kill on WarLock, Dracone, Whales, Meisseli, etc.

I ONLY play on 1.2 nowadays, so, if you wanna see me, go to Official US Server 1.

NO 1.2 ever. Not until the put the Hovel back!
Plus I love marabarbs.

KorX little 'nick nacks' balance the game, I'm going with KorX all the way.

I personally like KoRx 0.3.1 A LOT more than 1.2 because 1.2 had to remove the hovel. Trem isn't fun without hovels! D'x (I just wish there we more hovels and grangers)

But if we are talking about KoRx 0.3.2 vs 1.2, I would say 1.2 is better. (I miss the Xael)

Yeah the xeal is almost useless now because not only is it slow but it loses its strength with each bounce. I dont like 1.2 because the slowed movement (it appeals to a more brooder base of players) They did the same thing with the game socom when they moved to the ps3.

They slowed down the movement which made the game suck ! Slowed movement makes it easier for humans and make for a lethargic gameplay imo. They are also changing the sounds wtf I love the roar of the tyrant and the granger noise and the dragoons cry (camel noise ftw). 1.2 is to slow and sluggish and is only half way descent if your humans.

Also korx has more added things weapons upgrade ect If the tremulous developers really wanted to redo the game they should have added new stuff !!!!!(what are they thinking)

The reason they removed the hovel was because its only use was as a free barricade. On ATCS there was 1 main spot you would ever see it: over the spot humans luci-jumped up to luci the alien base and fuck them over.

Also, KoRx is a gimmicky server. 1.2 is for pros. I bet most of you have never even heard of some of the best players in Trem ever. Do you know Yahoo? Yarou? Dracone? Dracone plays 1.2. Yahoo and Yarou don't ever play under those names, so I have no fucking clue where they play.

Also: for you old SST players, a bunch of old SST players play there!!! Examples: {SST}Whale, WarLock, Slacker, Onionofdoom, Liskey (I think he was an old SST player?), Rezyn

I also found an old #BB# player there (I played Trem with him 3.5 years ago): Dust! EXTREMELY awesome player.

Most of the devs or well known people (who actually play) play there, too: tjw, benmachine, Rezyn, Ingar

Oh, and yesterday I taught Metroidude the ropes of 1.2

Not to mention the fact that I see our *good* **friend** swamp-cecil playing there almost every day!

So if you wanna look through the list of players, see how good they are, see if you recognize any of them, here is the Tremstats for the most popular 1.2 server, the one everybody plays on.

I don't think you are a 1.2 MD beast. You are pretty damn good with the aim, but not nearly a whales, warlock, seli, dracone, or QRX. In fact, you aren't even CLOSE to being one of them. Neither am I, and I doubt I ever will be.

List of things KoRx got from 1.2:
Blackout: that was in 1.1
Adv. Goon at S2: Yep, you got that one right
MD scope: that was in 1.1, unless you mean what it looks like, but I think that was too

Other stuff they copied:

• Turret startup: originally was in 1.2
  
• Mara area-zap: while 1.2 got rid of it eventually, it had it at first (TRUST me on this one, or I'll have to bring in {SST}doomagent13, the most superior {SST} member remaining )
  
• Speaking of my brother, he just reminded me of another one: Barricade shrinking! That is from 1.2
  
• DC healing other human buildables: yep, originally in 1.2

I am too lazy to think of anything else ATM.


Oh, and Swamp: there's a LOT of people I didn't mention. Mainly everybody in Sir| and a lot of |NN| members and everybody in DSPro| and CU|ams.

Tremulous doesn't start when opening the "tremulous-gpp". What to do?

Menace just because there are "good players" in 1.2 doesn't mean its awesome ... korx has there share or good player in the game too angelnext, captin [hammer], Poof, saturn, chiko, tyrant, finish, world war three and Bor (maybe the best one on kor im serious). Yeah korx got some of there improvements from 1.2 but they did that and added even more. I really cant believe trem 1.2 has no new weapons or aliens wtf that's the whole point in getting a new version of any shooter game out there !

(I also think captin hammer might be better than angel next ) maybe its because its a while since Ive seen angelnext play :'(

1.2 reset the tremstats exactly a week ago because whales found a bug with the killcount system that I wouldn't be surprised if KoRx had, too. They fixed it and reset the tremstats so it would be fair.

Also, @ earlier post by Qweef: get on 1.2, bring any of those great players, and watch them fail. None of them are as good as Dracone, whales, WarLock, seli, etc.

I'm sure those great players would fail in korX. It's the same with every fps, people are good at different things.
