Help Blade Learn!

As you all know, I'm not very good at doing much but playing and typing on the computer, so if anyone would like to post something here that would help me learn so there is no confusion, have at it! :)

yeah I know how to make binds lol but like... How do you mod and what programs do you need to download?
and also how do you put the box that someone else said and mix it with yours?

Guide to binds.
Simple build. /bind [key] [function]

For instance

/bind g useitem gren

Simple, right? But your looking for more custom things, like buying gear, and using a bunch of grenades. Here goes. I cannot remember the correct names for most of these, im a bit rusty on the subject and, again, am just coming back from about a 7 month break.

When binding a key to do multiple functions you need quotations, for instance: /bind [key] "buy gren;itemact gren;" Everything that the bind should do is inside the quotations, without the quotations, the bind will not work. When buying a set of armour and a lucifer cannon it should look like this: /bind [key] "buy helmet;buy larmour;buy lcannon;buy battpack". But what if you have stuff, and you are changing suits. In that case you should do this: /bind [key] "sell weapon;sell armour;sell upgrades;wait 1;buy helmet;buy lcannon;buy larmour"

Now i added the "wait 1" in there because tremulous won't take the commands in order of how you typed them. This works, some of the time, and may not even work now. I don't remember how i used it correctly. So im going to go ahead and suggest another key to "sell weapon;sell armour;sell upgrades" before you buy whatever.

As well between every command have a semicolon, without that nothing will work.

itemact works for turning jetpacks on, and using grenades. Itemtoggle also works for both, but only itemtoggle will work for a bind like /bind [key] itemtoggle blaster That bind will switch from your blaster and your main weapon.

Useitem is not correct. The command is 'itemact'.

Again, sorry ive forgotten most of the terms over time.

A list of commands as i know them

echo - only shows you a message
buy - Simple. Buy
itemact - To use the item
say - Speak
say_team (I think) - Speak to your team
wait 10 - would wait 10 milliseconds

Thats all i ever need...

To do multiple commands in one like you surround it with speechmarks and put semi colon inbettween each one

For eg. "buy ammo; buy medkit; itemact medkit; wait 10; itemact medkit"

That would buy ammo, heal you with a medkit and buy another one

My favorite is when your having a devmap override party and spam nades all over the place.

/bind g "sell upgrades"; "buy gren"; "itemact gren"

Lol... like i said, I know how to make binds, but I really wanna mod because I have some kewl ideas and I'm not gunna tell anyone what they are because I would like to be able to do something for myself :) so if possible, I need you guys to tell me the programs I need to download and I will need someone to teach me how to use them! :)))

Well for all of you looking to correctly spam grenades, the correct bind is:

/bind [key] "buy gren;wait 1;itemact gren"

If you don't have the wait 1, it will say "You don't have a grenade" half of the time.

It never does that to me, but (lol) thanks for all the help with binds, now what about modding...

Ok blade, the programs you need are Gimp, and 7-zip, for opening pk3 files.
Gimp is basically just an image modification program. Meaning that you can change images with it.
If you Google either the first thing on the list should be the site to download ether one.
After that it's as easy as browsing through your Pk3 files with 7-zip, extracting a couple pictures, and making them look different, and replacing the modified files with the old ones and seeing what it looks like in tremulous.

If you want to go into more advanced things, like making new weapons, or aliens, you will have to learn a program named Blender. I still haven't figured out that program, so good luck.

Making new weapons involes Coding in C+ (What tremulous is made in).
