GBA Website Change

Post  Pkmmte on Fri Sep 24, 2010 8:53 pm

Umm.. DucTape just told me about WordPress and it turns out making websites with it is pretty easy. I won't be spending much time on the GBA website after the new Map System and Poll System features I will add so I will use WordPress for the GBA website. This might be the only time I will use word press but, yeah, I like pie.

I found a cool Theme. It's called Pixel. Should I use this one or some other one?

I would recommend building a dummy site in another part of the site, to get a feel for WordPress.

Yeah, theres no way of moving the posts from this host. Or at least not one that we know how to use

So, it will be a fresh forum.

...You don't need to post that, if you have nothing other to say than yes, maybe, or no. Keep it out >_>

The forum will probably still be separate.

Okay, we have three choices:

1. Say on this forum and have a link to it on the website
2. Move to a fresh forum on the website with uploads, no limits ect.
3. Try to move the files to the new forum (may loose usernames/ passwords ect.)

I mean, your supposed to display, in a clan, competence and skill. Now i know how on Tremulous all of that has been forgotten, with free forums, and bloggers to run clans from. Don't just take KoR's website and put your tag on it, stay away from that theme even. Every clan is unique, and should be unique, you need to craft something for yourself. Now i understand with using Phbb forum as the forum, that is something that to have right and as good as they have it takes years. Im impressed with your map-uploader, and whatever other features you've managed to copy-paste to your use, but seriously make your own homepage, and other pages. If you need help just ask, ill even format it and make you a respectable logo. (That last punch was pretty low, i know, but seriously i feel like im hanging out with 9 year olds here).

Act your age, and your clan should support it too. No one is looking to join an immature trollfest, and thats what a Freeforum with a Gameboy Advanced logo says.

PS I know you probably all think im trying to troll every single one of you that respects this clan, but it's the truth, from an outsider's standpoint. Now what you have done here is one in a thousand, to make a free forum clan from a group of friends and you're doing quite fine with it. but you need priorities.

1. Move to Phbb. So much better, grangersba.com is so much mroe professional looking than .forumotion.com.
2. Own Homepage
3. Own logo
4. Own features

AAllsoooooo.
Hovel humper posted about size limitations, as in uploaded photos/avatars. I don't know what kind of restrictions Pkmmte pays for on his hosting, but i haz unlimiterd everaythayng.'
Aaannndddd
Im pretty sure i know a way to transfer posts, will do some research, once i get the go ahead of course. Wasting time = suckz.
I have no l limits.

Yeah. But our theme kinda is unique as a clan. Not everything looks like KoR's (not just because I can't copy it). And yes, the map uploader kinda is mine.
